Good news for people who first apply for a job because they no longer have to pay to get the documents they need to provide to their employer.
President Rodrigo Duterte recently signed Republic Act 11261 or the ‘First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act’. It goes in public on May 7, Tuesday.
Under the law, government agencies can no longer charge first-time job seekers to obtain the documents they need for applying for the job.
Here are the government-issued documents for free:
1. Barangay Clearance
2. Birth Certificate
3. Marriage Certificate
4. Medical Certificate(Public Hospitals)
5. Unified Multipurpose ID
6. NBI Clearance
7. Police Clearance
8. Tax Identification Number
9. Transcript of Record Issued by State Universities and Colleges
And to get it for free, first-time job seekers must provide a barangay certificate stating that they are actually a first-time applicant.
However, people who take professional licensure examinations are no longer included in RA 11261
Applicants are also required to pay for their Philippine passport and Career Service Examination application. RA 11261 also does not include a driver’s license. Job seekers can only get it once.
On the other hand, many of our netizens have reacted differently to such legislation. Many of them say the only earners are first-time job seekers.
Here are some netizens’ comments:
“1st time job seekers lang yan..edi wla ng magiging fund ang gobyerno kung free na all the way..isa yan sa fund ng gobyerno.”
“Libre po sa mga unang kukuha at magwowork pa lang.”
“sa pagkakaalam ko lang po ah libre cya sa mga firstime lang po magkatrabho ung mga bago pa lang kkuha ng mga requirements”
What can you say about this? Do you agree that it was only free for the first time job seekers? Kindly share your comments, reactions, and thoughts with us.
