Pia Alonzo Wurtzback is one of the country’s number one pride because she is the third Pinay beauty queen who won the title of Miss Universe in the year 2015. The first titleholder is Gloria Diaz in 1969 and Margarita Moran in the year 1973.

Pia is half-German and half-Filipino. Her mother, Cheryl Alonzo Tyndall is a Filipina while her father Uwe Wurtzback is a German. Pia and her sister, Sarah Wurtzback is born in Stuttgart, Germany. In an interview with Pia in ABS-CBN’s morning talk show ‘Magandang Buhay’ before, she said that she is really thankful to her younger sister who is always supporting her.

Pia added that there are even times that Sarah seems to be the older sister because she is very honest and vocal. Pia also revealed that her sister is really strict about her dating life. Sarah was the one who pushed Pia to join Bb. Pilipinas once again and never lose hope even though she already failed in the beauty contest twice.

Before Pia became a beauty queen, she was already an actress, model, TV personality, and host. She was part of the Star Circle Batch 11. Pia also starred in several shows and movies like My Perfect You, Kung Ako Na Lang Sana, All My Live, Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad, and All About Love.

Even though Pia failed twice in the pageant, she still doesn’t give up on her dreams to become a Miss Universe. All her hard work paid off when she hails as the Miss Universe 2015.

After some years since the break up of Pia and racecar driver Marlon Stockinger, the Miss Universe 2015 is now dating the businessman and Asia’s Tatler travel editor-at-large Jeremy Jaunce. Pia posted the magazine issue of Tatler Philippines, featuring her and Jeremy where she also confirmed their relationship.
