Perhaps, for the mothers, one of the best news they can hear is the maternity financial assistance they can provide so that it can help not only for them but also for their children and soon to be children.
Recently, the Social Security System (SSS) agency released the news.
They said that the maximum maternity financial assistance that SSS can provide by January 2020 is likely to reach up to P70,000.
According to the ABS-CBN News report, following this is the implementation of the Republic Act No. 11210 or the Expanded Maternity Leave Act and the SSS Act of 2018, according to the statement by SSS President and CEO Aurora Ignacio.
Due to the implementation of the new minimum and maximum monthly salary credit, the SSS benefits to its members can be increased.
Because of this, a mother who has previously received the only P32,000 would be twice as likely.
In fact, more than 122,000 mothers have received extra benefits since the implementation of the Expanded Maternity Leave Act, according to Ignacio’s statement.
From January to April this year, it appears that SSS will receive P2.67 billion in maternity benefits, up from 15.09 percent last year and over the same period.
After the announcement of the SSS agency, many pregnant mothers were thrilled and grateful for this good news.
According to them, this will reduce their risk. It can also help their childbirth until their delivery is over.
It is true that the maternity benefits of SSS can really help mothers as well as their children. They may also be able to rest well without paying their pay or employment due to the Maternity Leave Act.
