Mabibigyan Ng Allowance Kada Buwan Ang Stay-At-Home-Mothers

Recently, a bill was passed in Congress that stay-at-home-mothers would, if approved, get a monthly payment of Php2,000.

Albay Representative Joey Sarte Salceda proposed House Bill 8875 or the Housewives Compensation Act.

Such a measure is one way to reaffirm and appreciate the hardships and efforts made by mothers. The bill is also one of praising its economic value to the community.

Stay-at-home-mother that who are members of families under economic status, home mothers, and unemployed mothers, whether part-time or home-based, are included in the proposed law.

This law is under the Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD and other LGUs.

Representative Salceda said women have been protected by women’s rights for the past three decades.

This right also advocates for gender equality where “several landmark laws” are enacted and have a profound effect on women and their well-being.

These laws are RA 9710; Magna Carta for Women, RA 7192; Responsible Parenthood Reproductive Health Act, and RA 10361; Domestic Worker’s Act, and much more.

Salceda also said that gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, political inclusion, and leadership, and violence or violence against women are being overlooked by the Beijing Platform for Action, the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, Sustainable Development Goals, and Philippine Development Plan.

Because of these initiatives, the country is stepping up women’s empowerment. It aims at advancing women in the country.

The law is for mothers who work hard for their families and will be honored by this law. Even if it is approved, many mothers will benefit from it. It can give them extra money for themselves or their families.
